Editorial Standards

Photobek publishes photography guidance, tutorials, and gear reviews that readers rely on to make real decisions. These standards describe how we work and what you can expect from everything we publish. They apply to every article on the site and are overseen by our Photography Editor, Nadia Feltz.

Independence

Our editorial judgment is our own. No brand, manufacturer, or outside party has any control over what we cover, how we rate it, or what we conclude. We do not accept payment, gifts, or other consideration in exchange for coverage or a favorable verdict, and there is no pay-for-placement anywhere on this site. When we recommend a product, it is because it earned that recommendation in testing, not because someone paid for it.

Sourcing and Testing

Reviews are based on hands-on, real-use testing, not on manufacturer claims or reprinted spec sheets. Sample images used to assess image quality are captured by us. When we cite outside information, such as technical specifications or third-party data, we make clear where it comes from and avoid presenting other people’s material as our own experience. Accuracy and Corrections

We work hard to get the facts right, but no publication is perfect. When we learn that something we published is wrong or misleading, we correct it promptly. For minor fixes such as a typo or a broken link, we simply make the change. For substantive corrections that affect the meaning of an article or a verdict, we update the content and note that a correction was made so readers understand what changed. If you spot an error, please tell us through our contact form; reader corrections are welcome and taken seriously.

Update Cadence

Gear, firmware, and prices change over time, and outdated advice helps no one. We revisit articles when meaningful developments occur, such as a firmware update that changes performance, a new alternative that shifts our recommendation, or a significant price change. When we make a substantive update to a review or guide, we reflect it in our conclusions so the content stays useful and honest rather than frozen at its original publication date.

Honesty With Readers

We write for readers, not for brands. That means naming weaknesses as clearly as strengths, being explicit about who a product suits and who it does not, and avoiding hype. If a piece of gear disappoints us, we say so. Our goal with every article is the same: give you accurate, experience-based information you can trust, so you can spend less time worrying about your equipment and more time making pictures.
