This photo was in Vang Vieng, Laos.
Vang Vieng is really an amazing place located on the Nam Song river and surrounded by a karst hill landscape as can be seen in the photo. It was most famous for the tubing and parties that were going on there and I was actually there just 3 weeks before the Laos government cracked down on that party scene and put an end to it by closing all the riverside bars.
Rice fields are plentiful in Laos and in all of southeast Asia and the green color of these fields sometimes seems electric as it is so vibrant. I took this photo during a trip I took on a scooter to the surrounding areas of Vang Vieng.
