Golden Royal Palace

Golden Sunset Over Vang Vieng Valley

This photo was taken in Luang Prabang, Laos.

The royal palace grounds are actually a national museum these days. The temple in the photo is called Haw Pha Bang and it isn’t the actual palace but a royal temple that was built to house Laos’ most sacred Buddha image and it is by far the most eye-catching building on the grounds.

In order to to make the temple stand out, I went with black and white and only left the gold on the temple as the only color showing. I think it did the trick and I found that it was more interesting than the regular color image.
